Recently fell in love with {Trepanation Blade} and wanted to modify my Dimir deck to use it. Could use some suggestions, it works well from what I've seen in play testing, but it could always be better. What do you guys think?

Love the transmuting. Why stay with only 2 Glimpses?

As of right now, simply because I have yet to buy 2 more. I'm thinking about getting them soon, as well as 2 more mind funerals. Thoughts on this?

Hi, I have one in my mill deck and have three  {Sword of Body and Mind} which I pulled two from 4 boosters I bought which was quite lucky but they are great for milling.  {Traumatize} is one of my favourites.

The sword very well may go in, good suggestion! I originally had 2 {Traumatize} which worked nicely with the 2 {Haunting Echoes} that used to be in the deck as well. However, I wanted it to be more of an aggro mill, and the 5 cmc was just a bit too much for 4 slots in the deck. I agree though, Traumatize is a great card.

I've been underestimating {Trepanation Blade}. That thing could be a real powerhouse in a deck like this! 

Yeah it can certainly do some major damage in a deck like this, I love the card.

I've been thinking about replacing {Nemesis of Reason} with a {Consuming Aberration}. What do you guys think about that? Yay or nay?

I agree, for three reasons, 1)  {Consuming Aberration}'s trigger can happen more than once a turn bc it's based on spells cast. 2) it also can get bigger than the  {Nemesis of Reason} and therefore could be a threat. 3) it's an immediate bomb as opposed to nemesis which has very weak power.

Also, a GREAT CARD for this is  {Sewer Nemesis}

Im just surpriced how with {Duskmantle guildmage} and {Consuming aboration} {Mind sculpt} is now super deadly!

Consuming Abberations are beast. I had 2 during the prerelease, cast some 1 mana thing and milled a total of 24 cards.

Still lost because screw Boros ...

The Aberration works wonders in here! Definitely like it more than {Nemesis of Reason}. I might bump it up to 2 of them, and lose 1 of the {Mindcrank}s.

Funeral is a little random for my liking. might just improve their draw. I would say {Chancellor of the Spires} is a fantastic was to make your Phantasms 5/5 on turn 2.

And sideboard 4 {Archive Traps} if your opponent is a fan of {Terramorphic Expanses}, or any fetches/tutors. Nasty surprise, that one...
I like the funerals, they seem to work pretty nicely for me, and can mess up their mana early game. I see your point though; I'll keep them as a two of. The chancellor seems pretty nice, I'll try it out for sure. Even late game (if for some reason they survive long enough) it'll be a decent body creature to keep me alive while I mill. And I'll be sure to get the traps. Thanks for the suggestions!

It's great in multiplayer, but since I usually am playing 1v1 with this deck, it's just a really expensive (mana-wise) {Mind Funeral}. Not a bad suggestion though, I'll probably get two to sideboard in if I play multiplayer. Thanks!

True. I mostly play standard so I'd forgotten about that one.

Nice lookin deck.
Why thank you!

A second {Consuming Aberration} has been put in, in place of a {Mindcrank}. I've been thinking about replacing the {Think Twice}s with {Consult the Necrosage}s. I like the diversity and more-draw-per-mana aspect. The deck is coming along nicely, but I'm also thinking about doing away with the counterspells in place of spot removal. I don't seem to keep mana open that often.

Giving this a bump. Finally finished it off, and so far, it's been very effective! Only a few minor tweaks really, but they've really helped a lot.

That card completely slipped my mind! Great suggestion, I'll try them out as soon as I can. Thanks!
