Sideboards are used in tournament settings. A SB is made up of EXACTLY 15 cards (no more, no less) that you can add to your deck in exchange for other cards. You may only do this after game 1.

The reason to use a SB is that no matter how good your deck is, it won't beat everything. Say you have a pretty decent deck, and it beats nearly everything but reanimator. Toss {Tormod's Crypt} in your sideboard, so you can win games 2 and 3!

Some notes about using a SB:
- it can only be 15 cards
- you can use it only after game 1
- you can look at your SB at any point during a game, even if it is game 1
- you cannot have more than 4 of any card in your main deck and sideboard COMBINED
- after sideboarding, your deck must be exactly the same number of cards it was before
- you need to un-sideboard your deck after each match in a tournament

Not relevant for standard- maybe legacy- but if card says something like {Burning Wish}, where you get to search outside of your deck, this usually means cards you have sitting around. In tournament settings, it basically means "search your sideboard."
