Hi!
I'm new to MtG, and as such I have many questions. My first one is this: Does each player have to have the same amount of cards in their decks?
Nope. As long as both players have at least 60 you can have as many as you wish. Just can't have more than 4 of any card other than basic land.

Or {relentless rats}
Yes unless the card states otherwise :P
Thanks for the help!
I do believe the official rule is there is no max but you have to be able to shuffle your deck without any assisstance
Correct. But if someone is willing to assist you, it's totally fine. But don't go expecting it because you have to be able to do it yourself.
Also another side note: in sealed formats like draft, your deck size is a minimum of 40 cards. Otherwise same rules apply (there is no maximum, etc.)
Also in draft and sealed events you can have more then 4 of any card

I actually didn't know this...sure enough rule 100.2 confirms it! Very interesting. I got 3 {Augur Sprees} at the RTR prerelease...and even that was good for sealed. Think of 5 or 6! Haha

I drafted 6 unsummons once. It wasn't a very good deck but it was annoying :P the look I got a couple times playing that 5th Unsummon in a single game made it all worthwhile.
Haha that's awesome.
