Title: Blind Obedience
Post by: Imdowd80 on January 19, 2013, 12:23:57 AM
so {blind Obedience} is selling for 5 dollars on starcity games, what do we think the price of this card is gonna do? is it going to stay around 5, or is it going to skyrocket in price?  i really believe its going to up to 15-20

Not sure I agree. I think it has a good place:
Control's Sideboard against aggro or mirror matchups- the extort keyword becomes extremely relevant in those cases. Doubtful it will reach 10-15, but I see it holding some value.

I agree with DC. Don't bother preordering this for 5 bucks a pop. It's a cool card that does stuff, but really specific stuff. Creatures coming in tapped is only useful against decks with haste. And I don't think exort is a good enough ability to make it 15-20 bucks like you say.

Well, umm to late. They will work good in my meta though.

Creatures can block after they came into play, even if they didn't have haste. And Ohrzovs main strategy is to gum up the works, then slowly nickel and dime the opponent to death according to MaRo.

This.  I can totally see a sideboard place for it.

This is why I would use it. Sure it hoses haste creatures, but just the fact that their creatures can't block is enough for me to sideboard it. Plus extort, can't complain about that.

Decks that would benefit from creatures with summoning sickness not being able to block (aggro decks) almost certainly will not run this card, for a couple reasons I can think of:
- they spend their 2 drop on hastey guys that win them the game more. Why would an aggro deck waste turn 2 on something that may or may not benefit them on turn 3, when they can just cast {Ash Zealot} or {Lightning Mauler} or something?
- aggro decks have a perfect mana curve; they always get the most damage they can out of the mana that they have. Aggro decks will NEVER benefit from exort. Why spend 1 mana to make an opponent lose 1 life (lifegain for aggro is almost irrelevant)? It would be better to cast a 2 drop like {Boros Charm} or {Ash Zealot} than to cast a 1 drop plus exort. Same with casting a solid 3 drop compared to a 2 drop plus exort.

Blind Obedience will most likely strictly be used against aggro decks, not in them.

I basically said it will go in decks that gum up te works and nickel and dime the opponent to death

{Kismet} is not a bad card, and this is very comparable. I think it will see pla in control lists and aggro sideboards for the edge in aggro matchup.
