Title: Infect, Deathtouch
Post by: Lilhek on January 13, 2013, 10:56:34 AM
I'm sure this has come up before, but is a creature with infect and deathtouch able to destroy another creature; for instance, I attack with my creature with infect and deathtouch, and my opponent blocks it, will the creature blocking it be destroyed or are -1/-1 counters placed instead?

Deathtouch would kill it. Infect is not a replacement effect, it is a damage modifier meaning "damage" is still dealt which is all deathtouch needs to kill.

Yes deathtouch applies with infect creatures. It deals damage in the form of -1/-1 counters. Since it has deathtouch, right when the counters are placed, the creature will be destroyed.

That's what I thought. Thanks a lot. You made me win the match.
