Post by: FlickerYourOwnIdentity on January 09, 2013, 10:33:34 PM
Soldiers, And Humans

63 cards, 15 sideboard

23 {Plains}

23 lands

4 {Geist-Honored Monk}
2 {Angelic Overseer}
4 {Attended Knight}
4 {Thraben Doomsayer}
4 {Mentor of the Meek}
2 {Odric, Master Tactician}
2 {Captain of the Watch}
4 {Precinct Captain}

26 creatures

4 {Captain's Call}
2 {Cather's Crusade}
4 {Midnight Haunting}
4 {Increasing Devotion}

14 other spells

Sideboard

3 {Safe Passage}
4 {Rogue's Passage}
4 {Burden of Guilt}
4 {Sublime Archangel}

15 sideboard cards

Notes:
With this deck pump out tokens as early game as possible, getting odric out really helps deal fast damage, but if you want an exalted deck instead, swap out odric and two other things for sublime archangel and 4 plains for 4 rouges passages.  If you have an opponent dealing too much damage in a last resort swing, swap safe passage for something that you deem fitting

Have you ever managed to get avacyn out? 8 mana is a lot for 22 land decks and not accelerate.
I would suggest looking at {Angelic Overseer} instead?

And maybe {Cathars' Crusade} rather than the {Touch of the Eternal}

I've considered the overseer although it doesn't target everything which I need for touch of the eternal... Ohhhhh. I understand.  Thanks I'll check it out

I've always liked {Angelic Overseer} way more than Avacyn. Much more practical.

Overseer is a boss. Also, you'll need 24 lands for this curve, drop 2 {Captain of the Watch}. Trust me, I run a very similar deck

I love avacyn, in commander.  I was stupid to put it in a standard deck.  I tried 24 lands, but I think 23 is more practical

Makes sense, mines W/R and runs {Zealous Conscripts} so I have some high end finishers so hitting 5-6 land is crucial for me
