What are some ways to produce monstrous amounts of R/G tokens quickly enoughthat ixan protect myself and have tokens around to drop a 30000/30000 {thromok the insatiable}?
{Kiki Jiki}/{Splinter Twin} + {Pestermite}/{Deceiver Exarch}
{feed the pack} + {parallel lives}

Don't overextend! If you have enough stuff on the board to devour to make Thromok that big, you're already in a good position - don't set yourself up for an epic {doom blade} for a game loss. Thromok should never devour more than he has to for a lethal swing at most. 5 for 25, 7 for 49 in commander, and that's at the most.
Keep in mind that Thromok was intended for multiplayer settings (released in planechase), so he is typically slow to set up.

Ya thats what im thinking, ill probably up it to 3 flings. But my problem is hving enough tokens after chump blocking for turns on ed to survive and still having 5 tokens to sac
Surely you could figure out some trick with {Mitotic Slime} and all the tokens it produces. Maybe play with undying to give it a second go around?
Oh yeah, I almost forgot. {Doubling Season}. Not only do you get twice as many tokens to devour, but Thromok (and any other Devour creature) enters with twice as many counters.
Sacrifice a mere 3 creatures? Thromok is an 18/18. A measly 4 saprolings? Have a 32/32 Thromok.
Creatures from the planechase set that Thromok came from are really helpful too. {Brindle Shoat}, that {Mitotic Slime} Wally mentioned, Penumbra creatures ({Penumbra Spider}) that create tokens of themselves on death so you can devour them without regret...
