Okay so the problem I've had with scavenge is pumping up a creature just to have it blocked and the destroyed with a sorcery. Enter {Rite of Consumption}. With that I can bypass all of their blockers and gain that life too, it helps when you don't have trample

Is the problem that I was only talking about {Rite of Consumption}? I meant that it could be used in a combo with any big creature or until end of turn boosts to cause instant lifelink damage, even though you lose the creature
{Skullbriar, the Walking Grave} looks good for this, scavenge creatures to make him bigger, then when you use {Rite of Consumption} use {Rise from the Grave} or something similar to bring him back
