This is probobly directly related to your favorite guild, but try to cast aside your guild alliances and think which of the guild mages is best, rtr and ravnica, gatecrash or any other set they appeared in
My personal favorite is the new simic guildmage.
New dimir or old {Izzet Guildmage}
{Sunhome Guildmage}, even though I hate Boros.
I really like the Dimir Guildemage (the new). It has a Infinit Combo, and combined witthat card UB, discard the 10 first cards of your library... Bufff.

I think the Simic Guildmage (new) is surprisingly powerful for it's guild. It was smart not to print Unleash with Evolve, lol. I like card advantage and big Limited creatures, and he does both, very well.
{Duskmantle Guildmage} is probably my favorite, but the new Simic one is a close second. Special mention to {Orzhov Guildmage} for the cool artwork, and being a solid card in my first ever deck!
