Title: Local game store
Post by: Imdowd80 on January 05, 2013, 06:25:50 PM
So, I'm having an issue with my LGS, and I'm thinking of not shopping there again, and just going there for tournies. Here's the issue:

The owner of the store has one full time employee, who just got fired/quit for a different job. My problem is how it's been handled on the stores Facebook page, and the fact that I was in the store buying some cards, and the owner calls the guy(while he was working)and starts bitching him out over the phone.
Pretty much everyone has called the owner a d-bag.
So should I stop going there and buy online, or am I over reacting.

If the owner really called the other guy a d-bag, by buying stuff there you are supporting him. No one should do that, especially at their job. Personally I wouldn't go there any more.

I would stick with my friends, be a positive influence on the store in general, and maybe buy my cards online instead.

Difficult to judge without hearing the other side.

I agree with this part. But blaming your old employee for the loss of customers and then touting up this new one as a god send. And saying the new one is making everyone happy so come back. It just doesn't sit well with me. Keep that in house, not on a social media network.

It's okay to say you have new employees, and say yet are great at the job with out bashing the old.

Eh... I would avoid getting your groceries there.

It really depends.. If its the best way to get cards, its really none of your business and you dk the whole background story. If it presents a moral issue, dont support their business. Personally i would just shop their for the convenience since the old grump's problems are his own, if hes cranky so be it. Thats my outlook.
