How prevalent are board wipes in modern? Also want to know what the main archetypes are and how fast it is so I can try to keep up? Thanks for all input and it is very appreciated.
Board wipes aren't used nearly as much as spot removal like {Path to Exile} or {Terminate}. Now, as far as speed and archetypes go:
Modern right now is dominated by two things. On one hand, we have combo decks. These decks will almost consistently win by turn four if you can't disrupt them. Against these decks, games can be fast.
On the other hand, we have Jund. Using {Deathrite Shaman} and {Tarmogoyf} to beat you down, and gaining card advantage from {Dark Confidant}, Jund wins by slowly grinding you out. These games usually are pretty long.
Anyways, hope that helps. Affinity is a pretty strong deck, too, but in my opinion, as far as the meta, it's split between combo and Jund.
Help being affinity back!
