Title: Vedalken Shackles
Post by: MisterJH on December 31, 2012, 12:36:39 AM
How does {Vedalken Shackles} determine power? Is it by the cards base stats labeled on the card? Or the current stat? Would it base power off of the 1/1 on {memnite}, or the (in example) 6/1 on a {memnite} + {cranial plating}? Also, would only temporary boosts affect {vedalken shackles}? Suppose i had 3 island, and tried to take a 3/3 with the shackles, would then casting a {giant growth} cause the shackles to not work, as the giant growth resolves first? Or would the shackles ability already be eligible, and on the stack, and further buffing would do nothing seeing as the target was eligible at the time of activation?

It only checks for current stats. So to get a 6/1 that was buffed from a 1/1 you would need 6 islands.

The power of the creature only matters when ability resolves, not when it is put on the stack. So casting a giant growth on a 3/3 when you have 3 islands would save the creature.
