Notes:
I tend not to build control because it bugs me slightly but here's my attempt at a pack rat build. I've run it once during FNM and went 2-2. It seems to run very very well but I have issues maintaining a hand between controlling my opponent and discarding to pack rat. I also feel like I should have another win condition other then relying on swarms of rats to gnawing there ankles off. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Perhaps {Black Cat} + {Altar's Reap}? Could be fun.

Looking to turn this into a game of cat and mouse?

I just posted Slowpoke Rodriguez which is my take on the archetype. How it provides some alternate ideas and helps you in buildig this.

Maybe try {Feeling of Dread}?  It has a flashback cost so it can be used to control after discarding to {Pack Rat}. 4 {Syncopate}'s also may be too many.  {Think Twice} can give you extra cards to discard and also has flashback.

And maybe  {Rewind} because it opens your mana

Thanks for all the ideas guys they seem great what would be your thoughts on cutting the verdicts and mind rots to add in say  {Rakdos's Return} and the required lands to play it?

I like it because it's a little more for your mana and it doesn't make you rebuild your army

This deck doesnt make sense to me. Clearly you want to empty their hand and use {pack rat} as the kill con, however there isnt a single card in the deck that you actually want to discard. No {lingering souls}, {think twice}, {feeling of dread}, or anything else that is beneficial once pitched. Even just {snapcaster mage} or {archeomancer} would put those cards to use.

For the amount of discarding your opponent would be doing with this deck I would recommend [[shrieking affliction]]
