Post by: Karrthus on November 08, 2011, 02:43:23 AM
I can see how you commit the first one, but how do commit the other 2 in a forum?

2. Don't steal someone else's deck, combo or idea and attempt to palm it off as your own
3. Don't hunt a user down and murder their faces off till they are dead for asking stupid questions, making silly comment or just being a general buzz kill (... as tempting as that is sometimes).

These are general rules which should cover 99% of problems. In the remaining 1% I decide, or the people to whom I delegate the power.

I was thinking more:

If you're caught trolling these forums, your app will be replaced by the preceding video, you will lose 500 Planeswalker points, you will be banned from ever playing basic lands in any Sanctioned event, and your mother (or respective legal guardian) will be told what you've done.

Actually? I used that too when I helped to design a gaming community site (sithous.com.) I found it to be a very intuitive program.

Small world. What sort of law do you run on that forum?

Basically the same, but our community is small enough that it rarely has had to be enforced, except on our game servers. (terraria, Garry's mod, minecraft and a few more) I'm not the owner over there but I was the highest admin, so I basically made the law, which as I said, is basically the same as what you've formulated. Over there itis a bit more convoluted I'd say and made to fit our gaming community, but at it's core it's the "golden rule".

How so? I mean, you could go into more detail, but honestly it should just be common sense that you'd get banned for trolling or being an arse to someone.

You report them to appropriate authorities (police), I ban them.
