Does anyone else here play? I recently started playing and am really enjoying it.
For those who don't know, Smite is a Free to Play, MOBA type game developed by HiRez Studios for PC. It is currently in closed beta. There are 3 game modes currently available for play: Conquest, Domination, and Arena. Conquest works much like League of Legends. There are 3 lanes each with 2 towers. Each lane spawns minions. Your goal is to destroy each tower within a lane, then destroy the enemy phoenix at the end of the lane. Once a phoenix is down, the team must destroy the enemies Minotaur. The game ends when a Minotaur is defeated. Between each lane the is a section called Jungle where creeps can be battled for power-ups called buffs.
Domination is a very akin to its Call of Duty counterpart. There are 3 parts on the map designated with flags which must be captured and held. A team wins win the enemies ticket count reaches 0.
Arena is a straight up deathmatch gamemode where your goal is simply to reduce the enemies ticket count to 0.
In each game type, as you kill minions and other players, you gain experience and gold. XP gives you levels which allows you access to your Gods special abilities. Gold allows you to buy items and special abilities which help you win the game.
There are currently 30 gods available to play as with many more in developement. 5 of these gods are available for free from the start, with the others being able to be purchased via in-game currency called Favor or gems, which are purchased online. Favor is earned each game. Additionally, each week there are 5 gods available to play for free for the week.
