What are ways to get niv-mizzet, Dracogenious in play without gumming up the works besides the {izzet guildmage} + {training grounds} + {manamorphose} combo?
And what are some combos with him? Promise after this ill get more familiar with all the cards
Modern format
I drop him with my infinite mana combo deck, and then burn the opponent to death with his ability as soon as I can :)
{Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius}
As to how to get {Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius} out very easily is to have a one mana creature with a sac ability and attach {deathrender} to it, sac the creature for the effect and drop the dracogenius into play with the {deathrender}'s ability.
Then attach a {basilisk collar} onto niv.
That way you not only draw cards, but also gain life, and deal with most creatures your opponant has.
Embed the {manamorphose} into an {isochron scepter} and have a modern equivalent of the {Karn, silver golem}, {voltaic construct}, {Thran dynamo} combo to be able to use the scepter infinitely.
This will very likely blindside your opponent, especially if you play this in a mono color deck with no red or blue lands or other cards.
EDIT: and for more fun with the scepter combo, toss in the original {Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind}

Right. He doesn't draw if pokes a creature. He still gets life and a dead creature. If you read his post, he said that.
"Creature or player" can be targeted "for damage"
