I would love to be able have Tokens in the database too. I try and collect the Tokens right along with the rest of the set. Being able to mark them in my binders as well would make that a lot more useful.
Would kinda like to see this too, and also on the topic of tokens, a token tracker added to the life counter would be loads of help
It would be a good idea but I think Piotr would have to manually add them. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure the card images and data get pulled from tcgplayer.com or a site like that, which don't have tokens in their databases.
I would happily collect Token data (and images) and supply it to Piotr if that help the process.
If I'm not mistaken, the problem here lies with Gatherer and legalities. Piotr has to get card images from gatherer, and hosting his own could be considered copywrite infringement. So legally, he has to work with what gatherer offers him. And I don't think tokens are in Gatherer's database.
Correct me if any of that is wrong.
We are hosting some of the images ourselves now, the reason why tokens are not yet in the database is laziness.
How silly of me to think that higher def card images was gatherer getting better, should have known it was actually just Piotr being awesome again haha
This whole 'let's make our own toolbox app and kill everyone else's with lawyers' disaster was why I stopped hosting images in the first place. I played it safe, some didn't. TJ of Decked fame never stopped hosting, for example, but then he 'killed' the deck building part of his app... The communication from the lawyers was really bad. Now I think I was playing too safe and I restored some of the stuff I crippled then. Google 'wotc vs community' for the story. Nice SEO BTW, googling 'wotc community' should show the dreaded MTGS thread 2nd from the top!

Has that all gone quiet? Did the official app ever re-surface?
Yes and no.
