Title: Infection/Phyrexian
Post by: MisterJH on December 05, 2012, 09:18:38 AM
Can we expect to see a revival in infect cards and phyrexian mana soon? I absolutely love those two mechanics... Especially together.

Phyrexian mana was OP. Glad it's gone. Not broken but so annoying. Especially a free cantrip like git probe.

It was annoying seeing things like {dismember} and {gut shot} in decks that didnt have ANY {B} or {R} mana producers in it.

Phyrexian Mana violated mostly every principle that I believe in regarding card design. Players should never be able to trade life for mana.

I feel like they introduced phyrexian mana under the wrong setting. Kind of like shock lands they're at their best when aggro decks are not rampant but at least fair and carry a risk when aggro does have a place in the metagame.
