Title: Hellion Crucible?
Post by: Silent1236 on November 28, 2012, 11:48:59 PM
What's the deal with this card?  I've seen 3 of it in a lot of top RDW aggro type decks and I don't really understand.  It seems a little slow for an aggro build?  Am I just thinking of a bad use for it?

Often in a rdw deck you will find yourself top decking if you couldn't burn them away in the first 4-5 turns, this gives the deck a little more length for games that may run longer. And it's far better than having unspent mana just sitting there.
It's not a great card by itself, and it's a little situational, but without access to things like  {Shrine of Burning Rage} anymore, getting that last amount of damage thru can really help.

Ok, that's kinda what I had thought.  Thanks!  :)

Just like how mull decks like {Sands of Delirium}, Crucible is a place to throw your unneeded mana at the end of your turn.  Not great by itself, but somewhat convenient.
