Would {Archmage Ascension} or {Maralen of the mornsong} prevent you from losing to mill??
Also sort of relevant question, would the archmage force me to draw since i cant search my lib?
No, Archmages Ascension wouldn't go off since you don't draw any cards.

Archmage will go off, you just annouce that you didnt find anything you wanted. It's called a "failure to search."

No, Maralen says you can't draw cards, and can't always beats can. This causes a loss in your draw step, so you never draw a card to trigger the Ascension.

Why add Maralen? That just makes you lose life. Have just archmage and you can in effect choose not to draw with that alone.

Ohhh okay. Sorry about the confusion everyone, I misunderstood the question as some sort of combo with both cards out. I read "and" instead of "or". Yes, you would be fine against mill. Like stated earlier, it would just be a fail to search if you had no cards in your library, in both cases.
