According to WotC it's an Instant. I guess the rulings has changed on this one? Thanks for reporting!
I would hope that it is a miss print. I don't think it would be to helpful as a sorcery.
Gatherer is where the data comes from.
It's not a misprint. I started in portal, and portal was very weird. There were no instants in portal that I can recall. I don't know if they did that to keep it less confusing because portal was a starter set or what. Very weird. But the oracle text says instant so there you go.
