Title: Creature spells
Post by: Birdbrain on November 15, 2012, 09:10:40 AM
My friend thinks creatures are not spells. And I can't convince him otherwise. Tell me, are they?

The only thing that isn't considered a spell is land. So yes, creatures are spells.

Note how {Remove Soul} says counter target creature "spell".

^^^ this.  Everything is a spell while it is on the stack until it resolves. Then after, it's either a resolved instant/sorcery in your graveyard or it becomes a permanent. (Creature, enchant, planeswalker)

playing land doesn't use the stack and therefore is never a spell, it immediately goes to being a permanent

According to the glossary on this app, a spell by definition is a card on the stack.
