Ok so I am driving home from work on a major 4 lane highway speed limit 65 mph. No traffic ever in this spot and all of a sudden it's brake lights and people are avoiding the right lane. I pull under an overpass and there is a bloodied woman laying in the right lane of the road. She jumped from the overpass trying to commit suicide. I got out and was trying to help her out but she barely answered yes/no questions. It was crazy ... and I thought I was having a bad day.
My dad has been in that situation twice working for the state. That's crazy...
Kudos to you for pulling over! It seems that no one else was?! Did it take long for the emergency response people to get there?
Wow indeed.
Good lord. I thought the crazy drivers I dealt with today was bad traffic. That is insane. Good for you for stopping and helping, hopefully this woman got the medical help and gets the psychiatric care she needs.
Good job cltrn! Man I hope that lady does alright. :(

Did she survive?
I am glad to hear that you stopped. I can't believe no one else did. That really upsets me.
Just wondering do you know how long she was there?
She had just jumped when I stopped, she did survive but I think she literally dived into a face plant cuz her face was annihilated. The ambulance was there in a few minutes and there was nothing else I could do so I went home. But yea I can't get that whole thing out of my head ... just crazy.

Make sure you see someone if you are having problems dealing with this. Most of us civillians aren't trained or wired to deal with sudden and unexpected trauma cases like this.
It's totally normal not to be dealing with it well, just make sure you do something about that (like talk to a councillor or something). That part is up to you.
And once again, good on you for stopping. +1 for humanity.
I need to figure out how to do karma so I can bump yours up. You're a hero man. If more people were like you this country wouldnt be in the toilet. 😄
Thx for the kind words guys. My thoughts and prayers have been going out to that woman. You have to be in a bad spot in life to do something like that. The irony was that I went home that day and watched a documentary on Netflix about happiness....I think my subconscious picked it out for me and I did not notice the irony of it til halfway through the movie.
Wow... Hat is freaky stuff.

Good call. Big props for being a good person and stopping. Most people, even those who consider themselves "good people" wouldn't stop so it takes something to do what you did.
