Title: Isochronic Overload
Post by: CbStrad on November 14, 2012, 01:35:11 PM
So, say I were to have a spell like {Electrickery} imprinted on an {Isochron Scepter}. Could I throw that spell out of the Stick overloaded?

Sadly no. Whenever you play a spell without paying for it, you cannot play it as if payed for with an alternate cost like overload.  You can add ADDITIONAL costs like kicker (if you pay for it), but not alternates.

Even if you pay the overload cost, the CMC of electrickery will still be 1. As a counterexample, you can pay a life nd exile a blue spell for {Force of Will}, but the CMC will never be "pay a life and exile a blue card from your hand". It will always be 5.
