I plan to buy a box to stuff my trade binder, as well as get ready for gatecrash deck archetypes. What standard box should I buy and why?
RTR.
- Most value
- People want it most
- Most relevant to Gatecrash (same block)
People can try to explain why other sets are better but the only reason you would pick any standard box over RTR would be that you need cards from it. Otherwise going with RTR would probably be the wisest thing to do. Good luck on pulls!
I agree with Coffee. RTR has the most desired cards right now for trading. Also, there should be good interaction with cards from Gatecrash. I think 3 (4 may stretch it) color decks could be a whole lot of fun after Gatecrash.

I would say Innistrad is second place. For dual lands, {Geist of saint Traft, {Snapcaster Mage}, {liliana of the veil}, {sorin lord of innistrad}, and plenty other goodies
Yeah if you don't get rtr for sure get innistrad. It has soo many good things too.

DKA is beast! {Sorin, Lord of Innistrad}, {Huntmaster of the Fells}, {Gravecrawler}, {Geralf's Messenger}, {Thalia, Guardian of the Thraben}, {Falkenrath Aristocrat}, {Hellrider}
{Strangleroot Geist}, {Lingering Souls}.
It's a small set with 38 rares and 12 Mythics.
Avacyn has some solid value too. {Bonfire of the Damned}, {Cavern of Souls}, {Terminus}, {Vexing Devil}, the powerpuff girls, and various other popular cards (mostly humans, {Riders of Gavony} for example}
Honestly you can't go wrong, even core has {Thragtusk} and {Sublime archangel}. That's pretty much it though, I don't recommend core for value.
I'd probably go RTR, myself. So much value.
Id go with RtR. I bought a box last week and pulled 4 shock lands, 4 mythics (they were okay mythics) and some nice rares... 3 {Lotleth Troll}'s (one foiled).
I dont always buy boxes, but when I do I pull great things. Stay pulling my friends.
