Title: Casual deck please help?!
Post by: CajunJynx on November 10, 2012, 03:13:49 PM
I want to build a "semi budget" infect deck for casual play, what are auto includes?
I know it's probably GB, with {giant growth}, {rancor}, and a few other pump spells. Also going to throw in the GB dualies I already have, and my playset of abrupt decay. I missed the blocks that used infect and have no idea what other cards to include

Infect is very budget now that it has rotated out of standard.

I like {U}\{G} infect with {glistener elf}, {mutagenic growth}, {invigorate}, {blighted agent}, {inkmoth nexus}, {distortion strike} to name a few

{Glistener Elf} for sure. {Mutagenic Growth} is quite nice too.
As for what else, its pretty flexible.

You can stay in green and beef up things like {Spinebiter} with {Wolfir Silverheart} and {Joint Assault}.

You can go the blue path mentioned above with {Blighted Agent} and other unblockable spells like {Ghostform}, as well as proliferate.

You can go with red and try for the turn 2 win combo with glistener elf + 2x mutagenic growth + {assault strobe}.

You can add black for removal that causes poison/proliferate like {Spread the Sickness}. Black also has some really scary infect, especially {Hand of the Praetors} and {Reaper of Sheoldred}.

I don't know of much white that goes well with infect.

It's really going to depend on my nonstandard/spare dualies, but I do like the GU idea.

{Plague Myr} are also important to speed your deck up. And once you don't need their mana anymore, equip them with {Viridian Longbow} or {Heavy Arbelest} and you turn them or thise leftover glistener elves into serious threats mid-late game.
