Title: Disney to buy Hasbro?
Post by: Dudecore on November 08, 2012, 09:12:40 AM
$8 billion dollars doesn't buy what it used to. When Disney bought LucasFilm and Marvel, they didn't get the rights to produce the toys. That is still owned by Hasbro.

What else does Hasbro own besides G.I Joe, Starwars, Xmen, Ghostbusters? My Little Pony!!!!! and some little known company called "Wizards of the Coast" creators of Magic the Gathering

How would everyone feel about "Dual Deck: Jedi vs. Sith"? Foil {Darth Vader, Sith Lord}? Maybe a Yoda Planeswalker? {Tatooine} {R}/{W} Mountain Plains enters the battlefield tapped unless you control Force Aligned permanent. Oooo so much fun.

Don't even get me started on X-Men tie in.

Disney already owns Mattel. I can't see them spending $4 billion more for some toys.

I really doubt that this is going to affect WotC. Best case scenario we can get an MtG movie.

I already own a foil darth vader with lightsaber, along with a foil light side Death Star and so on and so forth. They already made SWCCG. Complicated mechanics, but it was fun.

Not to diss on ponies or transformers but why integrate something non mtg into mtg? I mean they do make fantasy and scifi references here and there and are certainly influenced alot from outside sources  but i always liked mtg's own universe.

Heroscape did it...Imaginext did it...if mtg starts making sci fi cards I will stop playing standard.
