Title: Daily Combo 14: Frozen Shut

Cold enough for ya?

Depending on your neck of the woods, (or mountains, or plains....) things have been pretty cool in recent weeks.  So cold that it's hard to get things done.  Snowed in, car stalls, power failures.  Having my defensive moat freeze over is not only bad for the cyber-enhanced piranhas, but people can just walk across it.  Defeats the whole purpose!

Today, due to out absence yesterday, I would like to present two classic (read: old) combos around the theme of freezing out your opponent so they can only sit and wait for you to finish them off. 

Combo the first:

{Frozen Aether} + {Winter Orb}

Slow your opponents to a grinding halt by having everything hit the field tapped, and only give them one untapped land a turn.  You get to bypass this by playing artifact mana, myrs, {Grand Architect}.

Tighten the lock further with other frosty treats:
{Frozen Solid} + {Prodigal Sorcerer} (or {Frostwielder} to stay on theme)
{Icy Manipulator}
{Frost Breath}
{Early Frost}
{Ice Cage}
{Wall of Frost}
and of course {Frost Titan}

Combo the Second:

{Decree of Silence} + {Arcane Laboratory} + {Power Conduit}
Turn your opponent's spells into +1/+1 counters or charge counters for yourself.
To keep your opponents from casting more spells than you can handle, {Rule of Law}, {Ethersworn Canonist} both work well here too.  Don't worry if you have no other creatures or artifacts that can use your counters, you can always plop charge counters on the {Power Conduit} itself.

Just i was goong to post that: {Stasis} + {Frozen Æther} with 2 {Land Cap} = Win Match xDD

I'm not sure what the plan is with {Land Cap}s.  Could you explain?

If you're really set on using {Stasis}, go with {Living Tsunami} and {Serra Sphinx}.   ;D

They are to pay stasis cost, but living Tsunami is better.

But with {Stasis} in play, the {Land Cap}s will never untap.
