Title: Blocking trample
Post by: Vyse on November 05, 2012, 07:32:51 PM
I have a 3/1 with trample, them a  {Alchemist's Apprentice}. They declare that as a blocker and sac it, they say damage fizzles but I disagreed. How would that work?

In that case they take 3 because it is blocked but there is no toughness to absorb some of the damage. At least I think that's it

702.18c: If a creature with trample is blocked, but there are no creatures left blocking it when damage is assigned, all of its damage is assigned to the defending player.
I may not know rule numbers but I do know some of my rulings
