What would be a good way to build up to {birthing pod} into {worldspine wurm}?
You'd have to pod into Kozelik and then into wurm.
So what is the starting mana cost you have on the field

Well I've never built a pod deck before, and I would like the wurm as my final big bomb.
I'm not sure how to go about building the mana curve to get there.
I think you could probably hardcast it before you pod into him. If you're using {Primeval Titan} and {Solemn Simulacrum} then you should have the requisite mana for him. Just make sure you've got {Cavern of Souls}...

I've got souls or 2...it was just an idea. I've been wanting to make a pod deck is all.
Your best bet would be variable cmc like {khalni Hydra}. Thing you could hard cast earlier and then start your podding at a higher cmc.
Podding gets tougher once you get up to the 7 CMC range. Your pool of creatures with that cost in your deck thins out considerably, and the removal starts to hurt you a lot more. And if you're unlucky and draw part of your high costs, its nearly impossible to hard cast them.
If you're looking to pod, I recommend topping your chain at 8. My pod deck tops out with {Griselbrand}, for example and seems to run pretty well unless I draw my 7 or 8 drops.
If you're looking to play {Worldspine Wurm}, it might be easier to pull off in a {quicksilver amulet}/{Elvish Piper} deck. You could too a pod out with it, I'm sure, but just know going into it that its a risk - that many high mana costs means a thinner "chain" up to the top, and the thinner the chain, the easier it can be broken by removal and unlucky draws.
What colors aside from green (if any) are you using in your pod? I can make suggest some critters for your high CMCs if I know your colors
I was thinking going black green for morbid and scavenge

Well unfortunately you can't reanimate worldspine... Stupid shuffle clause
There is one instant speed reanimate out there... I forget which one though.
Anyway... Some suggestions for CMCs. I'll skip 5 and below, there's so many choices and you probably have those picked already.
6: {Wurmcoil Engine} is a popular choice. {Massacre Wurm} is a good one too.
7: I like {Moldgraf Monstrosity}. If you pod him, you get your 8 drop + you get your 5 and 6 drops back (or whatever else is more helpful in your grave). If he gets removed, you get your 6 drop back to pod into another one and try again, plus another creature.
8: like I said before, {Griselbrand} tops out my chain at 8. He's the perfect mid-late game card. Low on life? Lifelink for 7 on a block and/or attack next turn. Low on cards? Have 7 more! {Ghoultree} and {Khalni Hydra} are good options too, their casting reductions make them castable if you unluckily draw them.
9: {Artisan of Kozilek is really your only decent option here. Unless you're willing to put in the off-color heavy white angels {Reya Dawnbringer} or {Iona, Shield of Emeria}, which you can do but are 100% dead cards if they make it to your hand.
10: {Kozilek, butcher of Truth} is your only good option here. Or, if you really want to turn heads and mess with people, you can use {Progenitus} ;)
11: Wurm! Good luck!

Ya know... Podding in an {Artisan of Kozilek} would be an instant-speed rez, wouldn't it? 😈
No because you are not casting artisan.
Undying/morbid pod deck is great.
Use {Mikaeus, the Unhallowed} to reinforce this late game, freeing up your instant {Undying Evil} for cards like {Primeval Titan} or {Solemn Simulacrum} or some battle tricks.
{Vorapede} is a great lead into primetime, not to mention all the others with cool death or etb abilities.
So the wording in {birthing pod} says activate only when I can cast a sorcery...what if I have {Hypersonic Dragon} out? Can I pod whenever?
Oh and thanks guys, this is all very helpfull.
Is it wrong that I wanna go to 12 mana for {It That Betrays}?

No, hypersonic only speeds up sorcery cards. Even though the wording on pod says "anytime you can cast a sorcery," it's only limiting when you can activate the ability - it's still an artifact not a sorcery, and an activated ability not a spell. So not even Teferi who gives all your spells flash can speed it up. The good news is it can never be {cancel}led. It can be {stifle}d though. (Activating it placing a creature, that is. Casting the pod can always be countered)
As for {It that Betrays}... Yeah, it's a little bit wrong :P but would be sick if you got him out there. It's not like there's a downside to sacrificing your Worldspine Wurm to get him.

Especially if I stick undying in my wurm.
Well I finally got around to building a templant of what I'm going for, it's called but mine goes to eleven.
Any help/thoughts/comments are appreciative.
