I want my controll deck to be good but {syncopate} sucks soo bad. I think I will run {negate} untill {mana leak} comes back.
Why not {dissipate}?
And actually, I find syncopate to be good against everything but control. Against low mana Aggro and midrange works great. Exile dat {Thragtusk}!
Ok so for example I was playing against battle of wits last night. He played with 5 mana open and I had six open so he just payed 5 if I had {negate} I would have won the game. I don't like {dissipate} for 2 u and 3 cmc. Easier to keep 2 open. Than just run some {essence scatter} and {counter flux} in the SB for a hard counter. Look at my deck in standard and tell me what u think. I went 1-2-2 last night with it. I took out {syncopate} for {negate} then put in {sphinx revaluation} for {thought scour}. The life gain is allways great. I won against a {rakdos returns} deck last night. I messed with the SB a bit too as I saw no reanimate deck last night. Thanks.
Personally I think syncopate is decent. Yah okay so it's an x counterspell but it exiles the card it counters.. It's another dissipate in a format where flashback spells and reanimate is everywhere. So all in all it's got it's place in certain decks but not all

I feel the same way, I ended up dropping them for negate and essence scatter depending on the deck. But more time than none syncopate blows late game with a lot of mana on the board for either player.
