Title: Home remedies
Post by: Gorzo on October 29, 2012, 11:17:42 PM
So I've come down with a bit of a nasty cold, and right now what's making me feel better is running myself a full, 16-episode Mr. Bean marathon. Guess it's true what they say about the best medicine, this is the best I've felt all day.

Anyone else have any unusual methods or rituals for beating a sick day?

I have a cure...

Stage one, preparation. For this you will need one room which you will not leave.

Soothing music.
Tomato soup, ten tins of.
Mushroom soup, eight tins of, for consumption cold.
Ice cream, vanilla, one large tub of. Magnesia, milk of, one bottle.
Paracetamol, mouthwash, vitamins. Mineral water, Lucozade, pornography. One mattress.
One bucket for urine, one for feces and one for vomitus.
One television and one bottle of Valium.

Oops, you're sick, not trying to kick an intravenous hard drug habit...

Awkward

That mushroom soup sounds pretty good though. Not so much the crap bucket and stuff.

Unless, of course, he's Sickboy. In which case he'll kick the habit without all the prepwork and show off how easy it is... 😉

Glad somebody got that.

I don't know about the sick part, but if u r congested and can't breath threw your nose then the thing that always works for me is to eat a whole bag of hot Cheetos. Oh and yes the tequila does wonders also!

If your congested you can put {Vicks Vapor Rub} on your chest and sleep with it. It'll knock out any congestion throughout the night. Keep in mind though that you need to stay well covered while you sleep. If you have to much exposure to direct air with it on you it can cause {Namonia}.

I have the plague now too. Sleep is the cure. 12 hours of the stuff. And a long, overly involved strategy game. Civ 5 will do.

Load up some good movies on your favorite device besides the pc. (or on your second screen).
Pop up skyrim with your favorite wildernes mods and start a new game playing as a hunter. Crafting everything on your own. Trading until you reach 10000 gold. Then setting of on whatever adventure you feel like! ;D
Thats my weird ritual atleast.

This kinda works for me. Have an amazing immune system that only allows to to be be sick once a year and the is during your longest break of the year (excluding summer vacation). But really the very few times I get sick. I lay in bed, get caught up on sleep, then watch only a small fraction of the 1000 movies in my family's collection.

I love Mr. Bean. I love the Xmas episode when he's playing with the nativity scene in the store. The New Years one is great also when he drives home on the chair. Then repaints his apartment. No matter how many times I've seen it I always laugh my a$$ off.
