You don't want to run too many dragons. Try adding cheaper creatures.
Yeah, in my dragon deck I like to run a few artifacts that give some extra mana early game. I wouldn't worry about too many dragons though, I run 17. As long as you can get mana to play them quickly you should be okay. Also since your running green too you might want to try a few green creatures that give you some added mana, like Birds of Paradise.
I'm a little wary of putting cheap creatures in your splash color. If you want to play them early, you probably won't have that color. IMHO

I agree with you on that, but his splash color is actually almost half of his mana. He has 8 forests, and 4 Rootbounds, so in that case he should have a 50/50 chance of being able to produce green mana early.

Yeah, I run {Elvish Piper} in mine too, it works well, but I'm considering running {Quicksilver Amulet} instead. It cost more, but people tend to kill my piper easier.
