Post by: Elitehalo360 on October 21, 2012, 01:21:05 PM
I have {omniscience} out an I play {cyclonic rift}, can I play the overload cost for free since I'm still casting it from my hand? If not please explain.

From the rulings, guys.

7/1/2012   If you cast a card "without paying its mana cost," you can't pay any alternative costs. You can pay additional costs such as kicker costs. If the card has mandatory additional costs, you must pay those.

Your still casting it for one cost, it's just higher.

But that other cost is an alternative cost.
