Title: Lifelink or stuffy doll
Post by: average_j03 on October 20, 2012, 06:07:54 PM
For both cases, if damage is more than the toughness of the creature, does the lifelink/stuffy doll's ability activate for the damage given from the creature's power?

So long as the other creature doesn't have first strike.

Yes a power 5 will deal 5 combat damage to a creature or player regardless of toughness and life total.

So stuffy doll would deal target opponent 5 damage and not just 1? Same goes for lifelink...player would gain 5 life even if blocking creature is less toughness?

Yes because that was the damage dealt.

Unless the creature attacking has trample, in which case only 1 damage needs to be dealt to the doll (its lethal damage) so only 1 gets reflected, the rest can go to the dolls controller.
