Lets say I play {Invoke the Firemind} where x is 5, and copy it, lets say by {Mirari}. Is x 5 for copy too? I assume x=0 but want to make sure! Also, if its 5, I can make the new choice to draw or do damage correct
If you are casting the original spell with a specific x, the copy of the spell on the stack also has x=5.
X is only treated as 0 when you are not casting it or casting without paying for the card's mana cost.
Edit: Well if it says "choose one", the copied spell is of the same function. Thanks for the clarification Double-O and Poof.
I thought the mode u choose has to be copied also
Just remember if the spell your copying has "choose one" the copy is of the same choice.
Example, {hull breach} targets an artifact or an enchantment or both. If the original spell only chose to target an artifact, (cause maybe there's no enchantment in play) the copy can only target an artifact aswell.
Aha thanks guys

So in the example of {hull breach} if the original spell targets an artifact AND an enchantment and it was copied but there's only 1 artifact and two enchantments in play would the second one fizzle due to lack of legal targets? Or would part of it resolve. I'm 99% sure it would fizzle
I am also 99% sure it would fizzle.
If you copy {Hull Breach} the copy can chose any or all of the same targets as the original. The copy will resolve first, destroying its targets. The second will destroy as many targets as it is able.
It would only "fizzle" if all of its targets are illegal.
Really??? The reason I don't play with {decimate} is because I was told it would fizzle. Now you're telling me it resolves? That changes everything!
Wait jester is alive?!?!??

You still need 4 valid targets to cast it, but 1 target can count as multiple targets if need be.
