{Avacyn, Angel of Hope}+ {Palisade Giant} so if i read this right all the damage would go to palisade giant but because of avacyn its indestructible. So in theory you take no damage if you can keep those two safe
Still takes damage, the giant just wont die unless the angel leaves that turn.
Hexproof should help with that
You could do the same with {Pariah} or {Pariah Shield} outside of the block for games like vintage or edh and it can be any creature you want it to be.

I like that more and might incorperate that in my deck
Toss in {Azors electors} and wait
{Ghostly Possession} + {Palisade Giant} = cheaper to deploy and can take on all challengers.... Unless its not combat damage
