Just checking is a plainswalker's +or - ability is considered an actavated ability correct? If so it can be locked down with a {Pithing Needle} right?

Roger.. Thank you. Wish I had sided the needle last night. Damn {Tamiyo, the Moon Sage} deck locked my exalted deck down when I had the bum at 1 freaking life. Course my mistake was naming {Feeling of Dread} when I used one of my {Nevermore} instead of moon bit*h
