{gilded lotus} apparently wasnt good enough with just {zealous conscripts} and {deadeye navigator} for infinite mana, the izzet madmen had to have more absurd amounts of mana!
{ghostly flicker} an {archaeomancer} and a {gilded lotus} to have three mana open an put the flicker back in your hand. Rinse and repeat.
{talrand, sky summoner} adds infinite drakes to this.
{guttersnipe} adds infinite damage.
{goblin electromancer} adds infinite mana (by reducing the cost of flicker and netting a mana off te lotus each time).
