Title: Next big idea
Post by: K-RO on October 08, 2012, 10:14:07 PM
I want to start a topic about what everyone thinks the next big deck idea(s) will be, what they personally think is best, and why?

My personal thought is GBW
Plenty of ramp, control, and field play especially throwing in Vraska, and faith shielding a assassin FTW

I think vraska is going to be a big threat in the next coming months but if you can ramp out a lot of blue red niv mizzet can be nuts

Ive been testing a BR Aggro deck online since RtR was released on cockatrice, and as of now it's 57 wins 10 losses (I keep track to see what deck is best/I want to build IRL). It's only weakness is life gain, most losses come from not being able to finish off GWX Midrange before they resolve thragtusk/armada wurm/resto

Slaughter games as side board?? Stops life gain :p

You do realize that I am playing a BR Aggro deck, that's not green, and can often win t5 or earlier, so thragtusk makes no sense and wouldn't even be able to be cast

Aggro is ment for fast but life gain will stall, pull out slaughter games so you can actually do something

{Vraska the Unseen} is unlikely to be a threat. Planeswalkers aren't generally. A "threat" must be answered, Vraska cannot damage your life total, and must wait several turns before ultimate (every color and combination has an answer for that).

I think Esper is gonna be nice. Those 3 colors ({B}{W}{U}) contain control cards, control tempo decks have traditionally been the best decks. Therefore...using correlation for no other reason then I can't say enough "who knows?"

I agree with dude.  Esper is gonna be the best decks.     I personally enjoy playing y BR vamps and Jund Zombies.

I have an esper zombie/tempo deck

If I draw the right hand, it's honestly unstoppable by any deck

The synergy just works so well

I have the deck posted under standard

"Esper Zombie"

But it involves Geist of saint traft and Rootborn defenses or messenger/cackling counterpart/rootborn

I'm either populating my angel token from Geist (honestly who needs entreat? :p) or I'm populating the token I made off the counterpart from messenger and pinging for constant two damage and then either way my creature survive board wipes with indestructible

Then I haw cyclonic rifts and snapcasters so it's like

"I can control your whole board and you can't touch me"

You do realize I am talking about having a BR answer to thragtusk because ramp is a thing and not suggesting you play a G card in a rakdos deck......
