Title: Nivmagus Elemental
Post by: HandsomeStallion on October 06, 2012, 04:00:40 AM
If I cast {geistflame} and I instead exile the spell to give my {Nivmagus Elemental} 2 +1/+1 counters. Would the geistflame card go in the graveyard or be exiled. The creature says the spell won't resolve but I'm not sure where the card would end up at.

If you use the elemental's ability for the +1 counters, the spell is exiled and will not go to the graveyard.

Awesome. I guess that answers that ancient question I had with {mindbreak trap} I guess these guys are good in case someone counters my spell. Not really as fun as I thought lol.

Yeah, they're amazing versus heavy counterspell decks, and they can synergize with a few thing really well ({Corpsejack Menace}), but aren't as easily abusable as they seem at first glance.

And it's a 1/2 for 1 mana of flexible color, which is pretty nice.

Or if someone {redirect}s your spell or if someone {cloudshift}s or {unsummon}s the target of your spell. More uses than you would think, not just against counters.
