Title: Infinite mill lock
Post by: Deathseide on October 04, 2012, 08:35:00 PM
I know it is not really a good combo, but found one that pretty much creates an error code 404 in play
If a player has a {wheel of sun and moon} in play enchanting themselves, and another uses the {painter's servant}, {grindstone} combo on them, does't that create a lock in play?
Since the grindstone would mill the deck constantly, and the wheel puts the cards milled back in the deck...

I guess it could mill the entire library at once then stop then cards go into library.
But most likely this will result in a draw if it is infinite as you say. (My guess it that it is)

Ew, crazy combo. Glad {painters servant} is banned in EDH.

Yes this is infinite since there is no way for you to stop it easy unless you can cloudshift painters and some how do something of the sort with instant speed to be able to stop it I would assume and have a card to finish his cards off

The wheel's ability is a replacement effect. The cards never hit the graveyard so there's no lull in the milling process (i.e. the amount of cards in the deck effectively never changes). You are right though, it is a mandatory loop so it would cause a draw.
