Title: Copying creatures.
Post by: Double-O-Scotch on October 04, 2012, 06:27:09 PM
Ok, so I have a 1/1 flying spirit token enchanted with {armadillo cloak} and also has two +1/+1 counters on it. My opponent casts a {cryptoplasm} on it and declares "now I've got a 5/5 flying life gainer!". Now I could be wrong on copying rules but doesn't' that mean he's got a 1/1 flying spirit token only (with {cryptoplasm}'s ability.) Because it copies the creature, not the counter's and definately not the enchantment? Nothing ever came of it due to board wipe, but I wanted to know in case it happened again in the future.

He'll only get a 1/1 with the cryptobility. Someone else can give you a big list of copiable characteristics but suffice it to say you don't get copies of the enchantments and counters on the creature. That's silly.

Thank you. That's what I thought. Just thought it was a crazy declaration during league play. Thought somebody had changed the rules or something. Here's another question, can you split your attack between 2 (or more) different opponents. I thought you couldn't but again, my opponent was adamant that you can. And can you split your attack between a player and PW they control? I think you can but again, my confidence in my knowledge of the rules was shaken that night, and now I'm second guessing everything...

In a multiplayer game yes, you can assign one creature to potential foe A and another to foe B. and also yes, some can attack your enemy and others a PW they control.

Ok then. News to me but I don't see why not. I now have an extra option during my own attack phase so YAY! Thanks for your help guys.

Just be careful about creating common cause among enemies in multiplayer.
