Title: Inc. vengeance + tutor
Post by: Double-O-Scotch on October 04, 2012, 12:41:17 PM
I get how the card works and a demonic tutor being copied is always a good thing. However, if I copied my own {enlightened tutor} with a {reverberate} or {increasing vengeance} would it undo the original tutor spell because after the first one resolved, I'd search again, shuffle my library (including the tutored card I just put on top of it) and do the same thing again, ultimately undoing the 1st one?

Yea pretty much. After the first {enlightened tutor} resolves, putting your card on top, you would then resolve the next one. So yea, don't do that.

Sadly, yes :( you resolve each copy 1 at a time, so a tutor like Enlightened that puts it on the top of the library after a shuffle will finish, next copy will shuffle it back in and put the new tutored card on top, next copy after that will shuffle THAT in, and so on.

But you can always copy to-the-hand tutors no problem, or just flat-out get all you want with {Diabolic Revalation}

Haha yes. I find most times I'm copying my opponents stuff instead of mine. Unless I can copy my own burn spell for lethal or something. I find when I copy an opponents spell, most times it's a deflating feeling for them since they basically gave me whatever effect they were trying to get. Best is being hit with a burn for lethal, but wait! I copy it and target you for lethal, mines first! Now I'm rambling...

Another question while we're on the topic. If I {increasing vengeance} a counter spell, can it counter the counter its targeting initially?

Yes! And I encourage you to do so!
Example. I cast a creature, you cancel it, in response I cast vengeance targeting your cancel, vengeance resolves putting my cancel on the stack in which I cancel your cancel, my creature stays.

Increasing vengeance can only copy spells YOU control, so you can't copy an opponent's cancel with it. Other copy spells will work for that, though.

Nice, I'll put the reverberate right next to my {red elemental blast} {fork} and {molten influence}. I love an anti-blue arsenal. Die blue! Lol
