I attack with my {Rix Maadi Guildmage} and my opponent blocks with a 1/1 flying bird. If I activate the first ability and give the bird -1/-1 to kill it, then would the 2 damage go through or be prevented. Would it be any different if it would be after blockers are declared, and before damage step. Idk of I can target the bird as he declars his blocker.
You cant activate it unless its blocking. If its blocking then no damage goes through eventhough he's dead. Unless you have trample on your mage.
