The card I've seen that is most exciting to me is the blue spirit with flying, about as strong as a {Mind Control} that flips into a enchantment comparable to {Mind Control}. So cool.
I don't think that spirit will be too useful in standard or limited..

And it's called "undying" not "undead" so I think spirits will probably be the most likely creatures to boast this new ability. That and zombies. Heck even vamps. I'm just excited for prerelease! I hope there is a strong answer to some of the power decks in this set, all I know is I haven't met a standard deck yet that can beat my wolf ramp best of five, but that new mill card will definately have me shaking.

I'm going to get four copies of increased confusion and run it in my huge mana ramp eldrazi deck. I should be able to completely mill someone turn 6-7 with the right hand :D

Actually the creators wrote in the backstory for Dark Ascension that the spirits that are being either exorcised just arent staying away since the avacynian holy magic they have is dissipating

I realize the ability is called undying and not undead. But if Spirits are "undying" then does that mean non-Spirits (i.e. the rest of us) are all dying? Pretty bleak way to see it. How about "non-dying"? Less sexy, more accurate. :D I still like the ability, though!

They are always trying to make cards for certain parts of the Magic population. Dragons like these are there for tabletop Timmies, so they don't have to necessarily satisfy the Spike constructed crowd. IMHO

It's just not fun. First of all, it's a repeatable stealing effect, which isn't fun for your opponent. It only works if you control more creatures, which usually means you'll be winning already. If your opponent has more creatures then you, then you're grossly overpaying for a 1/1.
tl;dr: It's not fun.

I agree that this has grieffing potential, but it's pretty conditional. It'll take some effort to be able to steal a Titan. Besides, I don't see this living very long on our table. ðŸ'€

So maye that's how he topped *SPOILER ALERT* Mikaeus, shapeshifting. Gisa herself looks sexily evil too, she has an image so it stands to reason she'll have a card...

Okay, for starters, this card is so ridiculously broken!!! And at a rare, I am very curious as to the odds of pulling it. î,
Legacy and Vintage players want this, it SINGLEHANDEDLY shuts down Dredge, a very popular archetype. I can see this getting banned in a couple formats, WoTC R&D is off their rocker printing a card like this as a normal rare, and I mean wth?!?!? It only costs ONE!!! 1, UNO, holy crap!!! Either way, I love this card, it goes above and beyond what {Nigil Spellbomb} is being used for, shuts down reanimatorî€, dredgeî€', any form of Flashbackîž, I.E. {Snapcaster Mage}, and all the decks revolved around him, it makes {Birthing Pod} uselessîš. I really don't think people understand how crazy this card is. Then again, maybe they do, it is beyond OPî€. And I like it î,, That's coming from someone who's trying to make mono-black Zombie/Reanimator î,,›

It stops people from casting spells in a gy, but not abilities. Dredge can still dredge. {Zombify}, {Reanimate} and its ilk aren't casting the creature from your 'yard, they're just putting them directly onto the battlefield. the Cage can't stop that. :(
Same goes for {Birthing Pod}. No cards are being cast from the library, just put directly into play. Only something like {Stiffle} could stop that.
You're right that it is an absolute flashback hoser though. This card is not OP, just P. So go ahead and make your zombie deck, just have a sideboard answer to swap out your {Gravecrawler}s, {Skaab Ruinator}s, and {Snapcaster Mage}s, cause this card is their sliver bullet. (Yeah, I'm lovin' the "silver bullet" reference in a block with werewolves. XD)

{grafdigger's cage} is currently going for $10 presale, how do you think its cost will change after it comes out?
And how soon will it be banned from play?
There is one thing about the {Grafdigger's Cage}, it shuts down all players alike, so I see it mostly sideboarded in WW, RWD, Bluesteel, and Wolf Run, type decks. I also think it needed to be so cheap because of the speed of many reanimator decks. Legacy can be dropping bombs on turn one pretty easily.

I wanna make a b/w token deck limited to innastrad block, I can see this being useful as it stays on the battlefield till it gets blown up, and with all the human token producers DA has if you have the 3b and a human, your opponent has the fear of losing his most valuable creature, however, Im not sure if I'll use the flayer yet.
I already build the a bw token using the one online as a guideline lol I liked the idea and the lack of high $ cost

Bleh, Avacyn Restored better be sick. I don't know if I like this set. It's almost just filler for the arrival of the REAL expansion Avacyn Restored. There's cool flavor and some decent cards, but for the most part, meh. Maybe it'll grow on me...

This expansion rules man. Just because the whole mirrodin block is stupidly overpowered, doesn't mean there's anything is wrong with this one.
Idk I definitely like the lords and a couple of cards in the set but I also feel like the set isn't as good as I had hoped. I'm definitely going to play I think I just kind of wish there were more cards you know?
Well Avacyn Restored is a full set (like 300-something cards), so it'll be like Rise of the Eldrazi. This is technically Worldwake, a sick PW, some other sick cards, a ton o mediocracy, and some cool lands. Gotta admit, Worldwake has it beat on the lands though, I was expecting a full set of enemy-dual activated effect lands. Don't get me wrong, I like a lot of the cards, and the flavor is cool, but it's really just filler. I bet you anything Avacyn Restored is going to be a pretty sick set, due to the fact that they're printing all of the good cards that they decided to leave out of this set. We'll see, I'm still playing, but meh.
I originally said that I thought DA was going to be an enemy-color-matters set (a la Apocalypse), but as the little brother of the allied-color tribes in Innistrad, it wouldn't have worked. But I'm calling for it in Avacyn Restored! Sort of a "can't we all get along" vibe. As a large set, I think we'll see two enemy-colored 'Walkers, (U/G and R/U).
As a small set, I'm pretty happy with what I've seen. True, not every card was made for me, but there are enough.
(BTW I'll take any {Elbrus, the Binding Blade}s you may have kickin' around. ;) )

I concur wholeheartedly! Every set can't be made to suit every player! I adore this set as the Esper fan in me gets a good lashing and the Vorthos in me has a lot to drool over! And the flavour of the set 😱 theres just so much!
I am also quite excited to meet my own Elbrus either! "Straight to the top of my W/B Human/Spirit/Demon sac deck for you!!!"

Yeah, any mana symbol anywhere on any card in the deck must only the ones on the Commander's card.
Ive had a similar argument in the past with friends that you can't use {Tatsumasa, the Dragon Fang} in a W/B EDH deck. I think you can coz there's no mana symbol, they say you can't. ðŸ˜'

Yes he can, because they both have the Green mana symbol. Commander rules don't specify multicoloured, snow or Phyrexian mana symbols as a commander choice, they just represent the colours they are based in.
I wouldn't be able to put a {Naya Hushblade} into a {Rhys Redeemed} deck either. 😊

Nope.
I still thing the Blade should be okay since there are no black mana symbols anywhere. Can you not use {Civilized Scholar} in a {Grimgrin, Corpse-born} EDH deck?
On another note, I like how this set let's you save a creature from a {Tragic Slip} with a {Saving Grasp}. ðŸ˜

But {Rhys the Exiled} has a black ability, I know the deck, no matter what, cannot produce black, so that's irrelevant, but can he still be in it? There's a black mana symbol on the card, or is it just in the CMC? I was confused because you said if it's on the card.
All symbols on all cards are checked.

The Community Rules:
* A card can't be included in your deck if any mana symbol in its mana cost or rules text is a color not in your commander's color identity. A card also can't be included in your deck if it has a characteristic-defining ability defining it to be a color not in your commander's color identity.
My point is that for DFCs, the moonside isn't considered until its on the field with that side up. I suppose it's more about the spirit of EDH, and I'm trying to sneak in a technicality.
I think as far as my group would care, {Rhys the Exiled} would be fine as just a green Elf. But that is pretty dumb, especially since that would mean that having him as a Commander would make him ineligible to be in his own deck î

If that's how they'd go, cool. Frankly I like the idea that you just can't generate non-Command colors and leave it at that.
Also, about the DFCs,
CR- 903.4c The back face of a double-faced card (see rule 711) is included when determining a card's color identity.
