So what exactly happens with {cathars' crusade} in play, biggest power among my creatures is 8, and I play {fungal sprouting}???
First you would generate 8 1/1 tokens. As they are ETB they would tigger the Crusade at the same time. This means each one would get 7 +1/1 counters. The original 8/8 would get 8 +1/1. Would leave you with 8 8/8 tokens and a 16/16 original creature, not counting any other creatures on the battlefield. (This is how I understand it at least).
Banned anybody? I vote yay
Oh yeah, it's tearing up the tournament scene.
I see populating {seance} and {cackling counterpart} tokens of dudes who enter with dudes like {captain of the watch} being pretty good with a {cathar crusade} and either {rootborn defenses} or {golgari charm} in hand.

8 on each sap. {Cathar's Crusade} allows a creature to boost itself. ;)
Yeah I realized that after you beat me to the answer. :). Even better than I thought it would be. Need to get me a {Fungal Sprouting} for my {Ghave, Guru of Spores} EDH deck now. Already have the Crusade in it.

{Ghave guru of spores} + {Cathars crusade} = infinite tokens and counters /jawdrop
Also {night soil} Fallen Empires finally receives the power it's been looking for all these years...lol
Not infinite, but limited only by your mana.
Oh yeah... Missed that part.. Still awesome though ;D

Now if we add {Mana Echoes} to the mix... :)
Hard if {Ghave the guy with fungus}
is your commander. But in a casual deck yeah pretty awesome!
Toss in {Ashnod's Altar} and it can go infinite.
How about a parallel lives for twice the fun :D
