I don't have all the cards yet though. I got some in a zendikar booster which gave me the idea to make an ally deck. I plan on buying the others sometime soon. :D

And yes, allies were quite the rage. They were, and still are pretty awesome.
The problem with the Evangel is that you can't use protection during your opponent's turn. :(
Actually I think I might keep evangel after all. You can get protection with it during your opponents turn if you combine it with {Join the Ranks} because it's an instant. :D
It's also good for an alpha strike.
