Title: Settled for nicol bolas
Post by: Richardalcala on September 17, 2012, 02:24:49 AM
So everyone knows {karn liberated} is better and easier to play. However I was looking for a cheap PW to put in my turbo fog deck and came across {nicol bolas planeswalker}. With two {gilded lotus} and some {evolving wilds} it is not too hard to get em out by turn 8 or better. Anyway since I put him in my deck he has been a game ender. I was playing a game where I brought em out then the next turn he o ring him. Then a few turns latter I {beast within} his o ring bringing him back then using him to blast another o ring off my {rites of flourishing}. Anyway I guess I think he is good in a turbo fog deck cause he can offer a second win con. Not sure where the deck will go in October cause most of my spells will rotate out. Let me know what your feelings are on him.

I see him as more of a liability really.  A lot of people will single him out and attack him.  I use Karn and Gideon in my turbo fog deck because Karn isn't as much of a bomb as Bolas is.  I feel like people are going to be more inclined to smack the hell out of Bolas with everything they've got to get him off your field.  I'm not saying he isn't good.  He is definitely a game changer at the very least, if not a game winner.  I just prefer karn because he is 7 colorless CMC and he doesn't seem to get singled out as much as Bolas.  Just my opinion though.  People you play with may play a lot different than the people here :)

He is in my mtgo deck cause it is budget. I have allready stated I would rather have karn but he is about to rotate and I can't touch em for no less than 16 tickets online. In turbofog they can swing in on him then I will just fog so it's all good. He stays on the board.

Oh yeah.  Sorry.  He's definitely a decent budget PW to use

I like the whole idea of bolas + turbo fog 👍

I'm kinda interested in the mana base.  I'd like to see how you played out all your lands and such

I think the idea of your opponent throwing everything they have at your PWs plays right into Turbo-fog's agenda.  Bolas = {4}{U}{B}{B}{R} Fog/lightning-rod.  XD

If if he o-ringed a planeswalker, its dead. It comes back with no loyalty counters on it if you destroy the o-ring, so it dies immeadiately.

It would come back with the starting amount of loyalty counters.  A creature like {Primordial Hydra} would come back and instantly die, however.
