Title: Cast shutdown
Post by: HandsomeStallion on September 12, 2012, 01:35:35 PM
I have {knowledge pool} out and a {curse of exhaustion} on my opponent. I think that if they cast their first spell of the turn it would be exiled and then they would have to cast a second spell from knowledge pool, but then my opponent would not be able to cast anything. Is that combo good?

It works, and it's been around.  Good find, though!

Yes, it is a successful lockdown if you can pull it off. Just make sure you have the curse on them before you cast knowledge pool, or when you try to curse them, they could use an instant to yank it from the pool and put it on you instead before you can get it out of the knowledge pool! Oops!

Lol >:D All I need is a deck for it. G/W sounds good for the ramp. Bant looks better to add in the {tresure Mage}
I need time to brew the deck.

I'd recommend cheap spells that will let you steal better stuff from the Pool.  Things like {Ornithopter}s that you don't care if your opponents cast from the Pool.

Channel, Cycling, and forecasting abilities are good too because you get an effect without casting a spell.

Have Fun!
